Privacy
This covers the lutgallery.com website and the beta signup form. The LUT Gallery application itself is dealt with separately at the bottom.
Who we are
Formal Technology Ltd is the data controller. Reach us at hello@lutgallery.com.
What we collect, and why
If you request beta access we store the email address you enter, and optionally which editor you use and roughly how many LUTs you own. The two optional answers help us decide who to invite first; you can leave both blank.
We also record the IP address and browser your request came from, and the time you signed up and confirmed. That is our record that you asked to join — without it we could not show your consent was genuine.
The lawful basis is consent. You give it by submitting the form and then clicking the link in the confirmation email. Until you click that link we send you nothing further.
What we send you
One email to confirm your address, one short welcome once you confirm, and an email when there is a build to try. No newsletter, and nothing else.
Who else sees it
- SendGrid (Twilio) delivers our email.
- Opalstack hosts the mailbox that receives your replies.
- DigitalOcean hosts the server the list is stored on.
That is the entire list. We do not sell, rent or share it with anyone else, and we do not use it for advertising.
Analytics
We use Umami, self-hosted on our own server. It sets no cookies, stores no identifiers, and cannot follow you to other sites. It counts page views and records that a signup happened — never which address signed up. This is why the site has no cookie banner: there are no cookies to consent to.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe, or until the beta programme ends and we no longer need the list — whichever comes first. Unsubscribing keeps your address on a suppression list, because that is the only way to guarantee we never email you again.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent at any time. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. For anything else, email hello@lutgallery.com and we will deal with it within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
The application
LUT Gallery runs entirely on your Mac. Your images and LUT files are read from where they already are, are never copied to us, and never leave your machine. The app contacts our servers only to check its licence and to look for updates.
